Step 1

Before the MRI scan, you will need to visit your cardiologist who will check if your implanted cardiac device is designed to be used in the MRI environment.

Step 2

If your device is eligible for an MRI examination, your cardiologist will program your device in an adapted MRI mode. Your cardiologist may give you a device ID card and an MRI Approval Form.

Step 3

The radiologist may need to talk to your cardiologist before performing the MRI procedure.

Step 4

Please be sure to bring your device ID card and the MRI Approval Form with you to your MRI scan appointment as these will be helpful to the radiologist.

Check with your cardiologist if you need to visit him again after the MRI scan.
